More side project-related news

Over the past few months I've been working on a demo for my new project KILLING TECHNOLOGY. Just a few days ago I finally released the demo streaming on bandcamp. The music is some sort of dbeat/crust (though I still don't know exactly what crust is) with a pronounced metal edge. Moreover, the lyrics/artwork/themes/etc. will be built around a science-fiction inspired world that I have created and continue to develop. You can listen to the demo, entitled PASSAGE BEYOND, below:

I also made a dumb facebook page for the band here: For more info: contact or hit up the fb page..

In any case, check it out if you're into that sort of thing.

A few updates

Some new things have come to pass today regarding DEATH FORTRESS that bear repeating. Fallen Empire records have announced the imminent release of the new MIRROR INTO ETERNITY EP on cassette tape and digitally via bandcamp. The EP features six tracks of ripping, trance-inducing black metal that, if you've been paying attention, you've probably come to expect from that project now. The EP can be previewed on the Fallen Empire bandcamp page

Moreover, it has also been announced that DEATH FORTRESS will no longer be a solo effort. J will be joined by S. ELDRIGE (DISMA/FUNEBRARUM) on drums and yours truly (T. WARRIOR) on bass and vocals. With a full length release on vinyl slated for 2014, expect something even more devastating than what has come before.

In other news, we continue to rehearse the songs for the next DETHRONED EMPEROR LP. Expect more news on that front as it arrives.

Updates for September

Though DETHRONED EMPEROR does not perform as frequently as we once used to, we have been fully active in working to finish the first full-length and in coordinating our next attack.

MORAL NIHILITY is done and in duplication. We are waiting on a test press of the CD and the final version is scheduled to be released through ENDLESS PATH PRODUCTIONS roughly by the beginning of October (supposing no further delays).

We are nearly done composing DETHRONED EMPEROR'S second full-length which we have been rehearsing since early 2013. This material is even more vulgar than what we have done in the past, expect more blasting and more septic guitar tone. A two-song sampler is planned for a release soon-after MORAL NIHILITY which will include material from the forthcoming release.

A live assault is scheduled for OCT. 12 at The Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ with Abazagorath and Bible Thumper. Stay posted for more details.

Vid from the show the other night

Just the other night, we played at the Meatlocker in Montclair (which I just realized we completely forgot to write about on the blog...sorry!). Here's a lovely video of us playing it. Thanks to meatlocker tv for filming!

Not Dead (Yet)

Photo taken by May Lee, Living Void's tour manager at our recent show in New Brunswick

I was reminded today that we have not posted any updates in some time. Allow me to fill you in on our recent activities.

The search for a label to release MORAL NIHILITY upon the world continues. We have pretty much decided to go for a limited self-release at this point. Expect more details in the coming weeks.

We recently played a show with our good friends Biblethumper, Fleshtemple, and Living Void from Boston at Ray Cappo's Cantina in New Brunswick. The night was a lot of fun: solid hangs and awesome people meant a good time was had by all. However, this show was very likely one of the last times DE will ever grace a basement stage. This does not mean we're through playing live, but that we will be playing fewer shows in the future.

Amidst all of this, we have slowly been working on new material. The next batch of songs mark a bit of a departure from the style exhibited on MORAL NIHILITY, so be on the lookout for something a little different from us in the time to come. J and I are also going to embark on two new side projects much more on the punk side of the spectrum in the near future, something we are both rather excited about.

In any case, be on the lookout for some updates in the coming weeks.

It has now been about a week since we unleashed MORAL NIHILITY upon the world, and I thought it would be good to share some of the recent press we've been getting about it.

First is another stellar writeup by our longtime ally Alex at Lurker's Path. This post was actually made just before the album was streaming, summarizing what we had been up to before we released it.

Next is an interview conducted by splodo, another longtime supporter, on his blog redoubt.

Our friend Tom (whose band Capacities is about to release a new EP) wrote a review on his blog One Path For Me.

VII Caso (who previously reviewed our War Grind Hell EP) from Operation Grindcore also wrote us a brief review in which he called us "Incantation meets Assuck." I think that's a pretty accurate characterization...

Matt from the blog Blood Noose also wrote us a review. Be sure to check out his podcast!

Thanks to all who have listened to the album so far, and special thanks to those who have taken the time to write about it. Hopefully we will soon find a way to have it released physically.

Tremendous thanks go out to our friend Pete Lloyd (of Dystrophy and One Stone Recording) for enduring the recording process and for his expertise during the mixining process! Physical release date pending, details TBA.
