Nov-Dec

-The split with our death metal brethren Dystrophy entitled "New Brunswick Death Metal Alliance" to be released VERY SOON in limited quantities through RTF. Dystrophy has posted their side of the split on their bandcamp page which is possibly the heaviest material to yet come out of NB. No DE samples will be posted until the physical release. As a hint, this split will carry five new tracks, 3 re-recorded bullshit-era tracks played at enhanced speeds, and a cover of Cryptopsy's "Benedictine Convulsions."

-The split with doom overlords Pharaoh is in the works. Recording has officially commenced.

UNDERMINE EP

We are proud to announce the release of UNDERMINE through Human Trafficking. The tape features 13 tracks of raw analog attack metal played in the style of ARCHGOAT, NAPALM DEATH, and early CRYPTOPSY. Below you can hear two tracks from the tape and pick it up at upcoming gigs (next Oct 28th) or at http://humantrafficking.bigcartel.com/

Each tape comes in an oversized tape cover with a cloth patch and almost 30 page xeroxed insert booklet of art and lyrics. The first 50 come with a pin as well.

Dethroned Emperor-Pollution Zones by HUMANTRAFFICKING
Dethroned Emperor-Population Control pt 2 by HUMANTRAFFICKING

"Undermine is forceful and relentless. New Jersey's Dethroned Emperor has tossed bemusing rhythms bound by primal attack into an auto compactor. The result is dense and aggressive. Upon hearing parts that release tension, you'll be unsatisfied with your grip, as each riff will be consumed by the next. Knee deep in this album you'll realize you have no control over this addictive dissatisfaction, and will become paralyzed as the vicious two piece kicks you in the balls and punches you in the teeth. The slimy and violent vocals are constantly reinforcing the pummeling riffs. By the time you get to the last track (Archgoat cover) you'll be immobile laying in a puddle of your own vomit and feces. The more you get into this album the less frail you will feel. When you start to follow the meandering linear format, the once feeble feelings will be replaced with power and pleasure." - T. Baumann

Thanks to everyone involved in this release especially S. Madden of Fleshtemple/Human Trafficking! Keep posted for an added "lyrics" section to the blog.

Finally, the UNDERMINE ep is completed and nearly ready to be released. PREPARE FOR 13 MINUTES OF ANALOG DEATH GRIND AUDIO COMBAT! The ep will be released through Human Trafficking and will come in an over-sized cassette case and include a patch, a pin, and a booklet containing automatic drawings done under the influence of UNDERMINE (sample left) and the accompanying lyrics. Upon completion, we will provide information for ordering from Human Trafficking (we will have copies which will only be available at shows).
On the agenda is a new t-shirt as well as a split tape with Dystrophy to be released on RTF. Expect this immediately after UNDERMINE, featuring another 11 minutes of aggressive attack force! And on the further-horizon stay posted for another crushing split tape with doom-overlords Pharaoh.

some brief updates...

hello all. some stuff's been happening as of late, and i figured a brief update was appropriate:

things are moving along with the undermine EP: the tape order is set to be placed very soon, and once we've done that we can commence work on the booklet. big ups to madden from fleshtemple, whose label Human Trafficking will be putting it out. we are anticipating a september release, but knowing how things can go this is subject to change.

yesterday, pete lloyd and i recorded the beastly matt thompson on drums for the dystrophy side of our split. today, we commenced to record the first guitar tracks. this shit is sounding completely off the fucking wall and i am greatly anticipating the final product. it sounds like nothing they've ever done before, but in a very familiar way (if that makes any sense).

more news on the pharaoh split is forthcoming. until then, look forward to some killer new stuff in the coming months.

a quick note....

This morning I came across a myspace page for a band called Dethroned Emperor, which can be found here:

http://www.myspace.com/dethronedemperorband

I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that we have never and will never have a myspace page; I don't really know what this band's deal is (a member for more than a year, apparently, and still no music up), but know that any information about THIS Dethroned Emperor will come from either here or via direct email correspondence with me and J ONLY. I do not claim any sort of masquerade on their part; rather, I wish to make it clear who is who and what information is valid in regards to this band.

In other news, we're playing a benefit show for Elijah's promise soup kitchen in New Brunswick with Chasms, Neur, Dystrophy, and Something About Death or Dying. Admission is $1 with a can of non-perishable food or $5 without. We will also be playing a show in nearby East Windsor the day after with Neur and even more bands. Information for either might be gathered by contacting me via email or phone.

dead shall rise

Hello all. Just to let you know we're not dead/maimed/suspended in carbonite; J has been abroad and I've been slowly atrophying in the barren wastes of central NJ. Thankfully J has now returned, and we can finally resume the sonic destruction (I'm gonna bust a HUGE death metal nut when we practice tomorrow).

The release of our next EP is in the works! Our good buddy Madden from Fleshtemple/Suburban Scum is putting it out for us with some sweet artwork; more information is forthcoming. We have also finished recording the tracks for our split with Dystrophy. In early August the legends themselves will come to my home studio to record their side of the split. I think these recordings are the absolute best we've ever produced, so when this comes out I'm sure many of you will be rather pleased with what we've accomplished.

On another note, we will be playing what will undoubtedly be an awesome show on the 22nd in NB (you would have to 'ask a longhair' to get more info) alongside Something About Death or Dying, Dystrophy, Neur, and Chasms. The show is a benefit for Elijah's promise soup kitchen in New Brunswick, and admission is $1 with a non-perishable food item or $5 without. Shit's gonna be rad as hell: attendance is strongly advised and it's for a good cause to boot.

All in all, I'd say things are lookin' pretty rad right now. To top it all off J just got an incredible deal on a JCM2000 head so now shit sounds even more ridiculous. You'll hear it on the dystro split....

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Meatlocker last night. Every band kicked some ass and a good time was had by all.

Below is a link to another stellar review on the Lurker website. Hails to Alex and the rest of the Lurker team for enjoying WGH as much as we enjoyed making it:
http://www.lurkerspath.com/2011/05/15/dethroned-emperor-war-grind-hell/

We've got a bunch of stuff in the works. A new EP has been recorded and is currently sittin' pretty until we figure out how we're going to release it. We also have splits with NJ sludge gods Pharaoh and fellow NB death metal maniacs Dystrophy forthcoming. As always, updates will be posted here.

STILL WAITING on the new Revenge album...suffice to say my skull could use a good pummeling.

War Grind Hell status

Here is a long overdue update on War Grind Hell tape: The initial plan for release fell through, so we've contacted someone else to initiate production. We finished recording these tracks in November 2010 and intended to have this out in January, so we are very disappointed the delay has been this long. If all goes well, we will have tapes before the end of the month (another run of 100; if we've promised you one already don't worry about them selling out). When they are actually in production, details about a release show soon after. Also, continue to stay tuned for an extremely heavy split with doom overlords Pharaoh. The next gig is April 3rd at Warren (see flyer in prior post) and another April 22nd in New Brunswick (details soon).

In case anyone was wondering, we continued to write during the WGH release delay, so expect another new slew of tracks to make a live appearance and another self-released EP on the very near horizon

Below is the URL to a WAR GRIND HELL review by Foul Feast of Flesh blog. Tape is obviously still in production, updates when they are available. Several shows planned as well, dates and details in next update. Still on the agenda is a split with Pharaoh so also keep posted for that. Also, anyone who has not yet bought Inferno of Sacred Destruction by Black Witchery should do so, it is by far their best material yet.

Death Metal Vacation

(Pictured below: Dethroned Emperor and Dystrophy)

We spent the 28th to the 30th of December 2010 on a (death metal) vacation south to play two shows in North Carolina with our friends Dystrophy. We had a great time sharing the stage with Megahurtz, Burma, Trapper, and Natural Law and hope to cross paths again! Also, special thanks to everyone who let us stay at their places in Virginia and NOrth Carolina (you know who you are! come to NB sometime!) The tape War Grind Hell, to be released by Grim Winds, is still in production, updates soon. On the agenda is a split with Pharaoh.
